Cutest Kid Contest Winner Jumping for Joy {Little Rock Children’s Photography}

I was so excited to meet and photograph another winner of the “How Cute am I?” contest that I sponsored in conjunction with Little Rock Mamas.  Bridgette was the winner for the older kids and I was really looking forward to her session.  She is a quiet girl but by the end of the session we were laughing together and she was giving me a hard time.  In between shots we watched turtles swim and sunbath in the pond.  Then her dad had to point out the snake swimming in the pond as well and I had the heebie-jeebies (that’s the technical term) the whole rest of the session.

Don’t Touch Me (aka a brother and sister session) {Little Rock Child Photographer}

The fun began on this session as soon as the door to the car opened.  Let’s just say she wasn’t thrilled about her mom brushing her hair.  Mom and I agreed that she could have some much deserved quiet time in the car while the kids and I explored the park.

Our main goal was the get a picture of the two together.  This proved to be a bit of a challenge because it entailed them being near each other!  More than one  giggly “DON’T TOUCH ME” was shouted.

Party of Three {Chenal Family Photographer}

My friends are often my clients and I am lucky enough that often times my clients become my friends. This family is a great example.  I have gotten to watch Kendall play soccer alongside my daughter for a few seasons now.  I was so glad when they asked me to do some family photos for them!

After our session we got to sit down together over pizza as we wrapped up the soccer season.  They were saying how our session had been different than what they had expected and had experienced before.  They were using words like “laid back,” and “fun.”  I took that as a compliment!  I tell my clients that if you are stressing about your session, I need to change how I am doing my job.  I am always willing to help with everything from where to do the session, to what to wear, to what to purchase for your walls.  Call or e-mail me to set up your fun and laid back session today!

What Should I Wear?? {Central Arkansas Photographer}

One of the most common questions I get when I set up a session with a client is, “What should we wear?” Here’s what I say in my Frequently Asked Questions:

Here are some things to keep in mind: It doesn’t have to be new to be fabulous! It doesn’t have to be expensive to look great! It doesn’t have to be dressy to look great in a frame!

Just remember, if you feel uncomfortable you will look, well… uncomfortable.

One thing I always ask of my moms is to please…pretty please…with a cherry on top, not get in a fight with your kids about what to wear.  Don’t give them free reign (I’m a mom too and I know what can result) but also try not to threaten them into a dress they despise.  Happy comfortable kids lead to happy, fun to photograph families and ultimately great images!
